The capabilities of medicinal plants present on the Brahmayoni hill in Gaya, Bihar have been described. Professors of Magadh University, Bihar have done this research. The research has been published in the International Journal of Creative Research Thoughts.
It is told that one of the three medicinal plants found on Brahmayoni hill, Gudmar (Gymnema Sylvestre) can easily control diabetes. Gymnemic acid found in Gudmar has a good ability to reduce blood sugar. CSIR has used it in its important drug BGR-34.
The specialty of gymnemic acid present in Gudmar is that it fills the empty space of the receptor in the outer layer of the intestine. This reduces the desire to eat something sweet in a person. By filling the empty space of the receptor, the sugar level also remains under control.
There are many properties in the gudmar plant
Research in Magadh University has revealed that gurmar also contains flavonoids and saponins which improve the body’s metabolism. It contains antioxidants and saponins reduce cholesterol.
In a research published in the International Journal of Creative Research Thoughts, the gurmar plant (Gymnema sylvestre) found on the Brahmayoni hill has been described as an excellent medicine for diabetes patients.
CSIR has added gurmar in its diabetes medicine BGR-34 and this medicine, which came to the market through Emil Pharma, has also been successful.

Research conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has also shown that BGR-34 is very effective in reducing sugar levels and obesity.
This medicine contains medicines like Daruharidra, Vijaysar, Majith along with Gudmar. It improves diabetes, lipid profile as well as metabolism.
